The run course presented by Run’n Fun starts things off and is a counter clockwise loop around Lake Phalen. 3.1 miles with 2 short and steep climbs. This will be mainly on packed snow with a few sections of plowed pathway.

Next up is 3 laps of a 3.6 mile bike loop presented by NOW Bikes and Fitness. For 2018 the course will be wider and the loop longer with a few less switchbacks allowing for easier passing. It will be more challenging the faster you go; a bit less technically challenging if you are going a bit slower! A mix of double track, a tiny bit of single track and more open sections will keep athletes engaged and entertained. This is a very spectator friendly loop that was simply a 4 year olds drawing transposed to make a course. Fat bikes are absolutely recommended (and will quite possibly be necessary). We will have some fat bikes available for rent through NOW Sports.

The final leg is the Nordic ski leg presented by Finn Sisu. 5km in length utilizing the existing Nordic trail route at Phalen Golf course. This is a grinder of a course; no long climbs but constantly undulating and forcing changes in technique. The switchbacks are fast but flow very well. Skate skis are recommended but there are tracks on one side of the skate deck for those wanting to kick it.
